Brian Merrifield

Brian’s 20 years of experience covers leadership roles at Saatchi & Saatchi, The Monkeys and Ogilvy. He’s worked across telcos, cars, alcohol, travel, tech, government, finance, gaming, the arts and industry bodies. He leads the team at Common with a view to use hours more efficiently. We also have an open and collaborative approach to creative and strategy. This enables clients to understand the way we do things, whilst empowering those at Common to better understand our clients’ needs.

Jane Burhop
Founder, Creative Director
Little is known about the origins of Jane Burhop. Some say she hails from that weird part of the internet, others believe she was born with purple hair. Despite all this, she managed to sneak into the advertising industry and has been causing havoc ever since. Half writer, half voyeur, Jane is forever trying to cram more things into her head. Once it’s full, she hopes to be noticeably better at life. Aside from her countless accolades and achievements, she is notorious for hanging upside down when she’s tired. Jane is a winner of B&T’s 30-under-30.

Alex has 11 years of experience delivering campaigns across global markets including Europe, Asia and Australasia. His diverse client and agency experience leaves him well placed to not only run projects effectively but also add significant value strategically. Alex has recently returned to Australia after a two-year stint in the UK and is excited to re-join his fellow cheese enthusiasts (the Common Ventures team).

Masha Rimsh
Creative
Initially applying to study Business I.T. – Masha realised her heart lay in the creative industries after a faithful gap year abroad. With a B.A. in advertising from RMIT and a D&AD graphite pencil under her belt – Masha now applies her skills through verbiage (when she manages to ignore her Tik Tok feed.)

Daniel Nutman
Creative
Upon completing his B.A, Daniel changed his focus to another type of creative problem solving – advertising. He has an extremely high stress threshold, actually listens and is often referred to as someone who simply “gets it”. As a creative, Daniel has played an integral role in some of Common’s most exciting and successful projects.

Tom Barker
Creative
Tasmanian born and bred, Tom is an architecture dropout/advertising convert. This young gun has many creative bones in his body – all of which are endangered daily by attempts at kickflips and nollie frontside flips. Tom is skilled in the craft of art direction, graphic design and creative ideation.
